Dad's First Post
Big day for Dad today. After spending an hour, from 4:30am to 5:30am, getting Rylee to finally fall back asleep (Erin was just exhausted) my reward was that I got to feed her for the first time. I got the second feeding which was around 11:30am. It was very cool but over way too fast. Either she eats way more than we thought or she got the milk much faster through the bottle. 2.5oz in about five minutes (with a burp and diaper change in the middle).
I get so much satisfaction out of the everyday stuff. I really like to change her diapers and put on the clothes that Erin lays out for us (we all know I can't pick out her outfits). I love to give Erin a break when she needs it, even at four o'clock in the morning. Then, it is just her and I.
When you figure out that she is upset because she is hot or you find that perfect position to hold her while trying to get her to settle, it cannot be beat.
Everyday is something new. She is incredibly beautiful. When you do something that makes her happy or makes her feel better and she looks at you, WOW!
It is unbelievable how much she has grown and changed in three weeks. In another week she will be a month old. What? Where did that month go? When Erin was pregnant, a month took forever and this one was over in a blink of an eye.

All Smiles for Cavs!
Rylee was too tired to watch the game, but here are her smiles as she listens to the Cleveland Cavs SWEEPING the Detroit Pistons.

So I think Rylee is officially sick of being swaddled. She likes her hands free and by her face. (Merle says this is how I sleep :) )
It makes us laugh when her mouth is open like this...my dad would call her a "slack jawed yokel", lol.
We've been trying to transition her to her pack and play. She didn't like laying flat on her back at at first. She has taken 2 successful naps in here and might try it at night some time soon.

Welcome to Rylee.com!
I love Nikki's blog so much, I decided to make one for Rylee....
Rylee is 2 weeks old today! 2 week summary:
Labor was a piece of cake! I was induced at 6:30 a.m. and delivered Rylee at 10:59am! Only had to push 4 times! We left the hospital a day early because everything went so well. We have spent the last 2 weeks getting to know her, her cues, and falling more in Love with her everyday. She is absolutely perfect! She makes her own schedule and eats on demand. She sleeps pretty good. Most days/nights are better than others.
We took Rylee for her 2 week wellness check today and Dr. Rayus told us she gained her birth weight back plus some! She currently weighs 8.1 lbs. Wow! We can definitely tell she is bigger. She is also longer...20 1/4''! She gets her first immunization in 2 weeks. I hope she doesn't cry to much, it will break our heart!
She loves her vibrating chair, and her swing! In the last 3 days she has had a lot more awake time. It is my favorite time of the day.
I will post lots of photos from her 1st 2 weeks and continue to add daily!
Well...it's time to eat.....
