Swing crisis & more.

The Swing Crisis: The one and only certainty in our day was Rylee's 2-3 hour nap in her swing EVERY morning so that Mommy can go to work. Over the weekend her swing started going slow and squeaking. We took it back to Babies 'r' Us and Daddy got her the coolest swing in the store. I would not be surprised if NASA had a hand in designing this swing. She HATES it! She has not taken a morning nap since we took her other swing back! I thought it might be too fast (see photo on left, this is speed 6). So I slowed it down (photo on right, speed 3). Nothing works. We try for hours and she won't take her nap! What gives?!? I am seriously considering getting the other one back if she doesn't get used to it by the end of the week.
So.....after a few tries I take her into the bathroom with me while I do my hair and make-up. Below are pictures from the last 2 mornings. She just sits and watches. It's really cute. Same bed hed, different day.

In other news, Dad actually got Rylee to take her pacifer on Sunday. We were amazed she just sucked and sucked. She even PUT HERSELF TO SLEEP!! We thought it was a breakthrough. NOOOOOPE! One time thing. Oh well, she knows what she likes and DOESN'T like. She will not fall to peer pressure.



Rylee got a new floor "jungle" this week. We are trying to spike her interest in toys and get her to reach and grab. This is also a tummy time mat so she can continue to practice lifting herself with her arms. She has not reached out for a toy yet but she's lookin' at em.

I think the best news of the week so far is that she has started to smile like CRAZY. As soon as we catch her glance, its a smile extravaganza. We can not get enough. The worst part of the week is that Daddy is out of town. We miss him badly and can not wait for him to get home tomorrow! Oh and yesterday we went to watch cousin Jaden's softball game. She did great and her team won! We plan on going to many more games. Austin's on Friday!
